Etihad Airways Assessment Day Guide

Your Path to Becoming a Cabin Crew Starts Here

If you’ve received an invitation to Etihad’s Cabin Crew Assessment Day – congratulations! 🌟
This is a huge step forward and an exciting opportunity that could completely transform your life.

Etihad Airways is one of the most prestigious airlines in the world, and they’re looking for the best. That means the recruitment process is competitive, and preparation is key.

Here’s what to expect during the assessment day, step-by-step, so you can walk in confident and ready to shine!

✅ Step 1: Registration & Reach Test

On arrival, you’ll need to submit:

  • Your updated CV

  • Your assessment invitation email

Then comes the Reach Test. You’ll be asked to reach up to 212 cm (on tiptoes, if needed). This is to make sure you can access safety equipment on board the aircraft.

Step 2: English Test

Etihad will test your English language skills through a short written exam. The test usually includes:

  1. Grammar (multiple choice)

  2. Fill-in-the-blank text

  3. Reading comprehension (answering questions based on a passage)

  4. Short writing task (a brief essay)

No need to panic—this test is basic, but practicing in advance will help you stay calm and focused.

Step 3: One-on-One Question Round

You’ll meet with a recruiter who will ask you a personal or fun question to check your communication style and confidence.

Here are some examples:

  • “Do you like being young?”

  • “What holiday destination would you not return to?”

  • “What qualities should a good friend have?”

  • “If you had a sport-related job, what would it be?”

There’s no right or wrong answer—just be yourself, speak clearly, and stay positive.

Step 4: Company Presentation

You’ll attend a presentation about Etihad Airways, the cabin crew lifestyle, and life in Abu Dhabi.

During this time, recruiters will observe candidates and make quiet eliminations before the next stage. Stay engaged and professional!

✅  Step 5: Group Discussion

You’ll be placed in a group (usually 6–8 people) and given a teamwork challenge. You’ll need to discuss, agree on a solution, and present your group’s decision.

Example scenario:

“There are only 2 seats left on a fully booked flight to New York. Eight passengers want to board: a honeymoon couple, a manager, an elderly couple, a mother with a baby, etc. Who gets the seats?”

This task lasts about 20 minutes, and recruiters will observe how well you:

  • Communicate

  • Listen to others

  • Contribute ideas

  • Collaborate as a team

After this round, some candidates may be eliminated.

✅ Step 6: Final Interview

The final interview may take place on the same day or the following day. You’ll be interviewed by two recruiters—one asking questions, the other taking notes.

The interview will focus on your CV and past experiences. Typical questions include:

  • Why do you want to join Etihad?

  • Why are you leaving your current job?

  • Have you worked with people from different cultures?

  • What do you know about the Middle East?

  • Tell us about a time you gave excellent customer service.

  • Describe a situation where you had to calm down an upset customer.

Answer with specific examples, stay calm, and be honest.

Final Tips
